Offshore, Stuart Florida

Had the chance to fill in an extra spot on a charter with Daymaker and jumped at that. I fished with Leo and his son Josh and a Daymaker regular, Gracie. We started off the day fishing for bait which seemed a bit hard to come by but Captain Pat put us right on top of them and we got what we needed to go looking for some bigger stuff.
We spent some time trying to get a birthday Cobia for Gracie but foul hooked a shark and maybe had a Cobia on for a minute but it pulled off. The Cobia quite often hang out around the sharks and a lot of the guys chum to get the sharks to come in and hope some Cobia come with them.
We spent some time bottom fishing for supper and got a variety of fish that I can only identify some of but several varieties of Snapper and some Sea Bass.
The sea was kicking up a bit and it seemed like a good time to troll and look for Mahi or Sails. We ended up with Josh hooking a nice King Mackeral and then later on Gracie got our only Mahi to the boat although we did see another one late in the afternoon that came in after a hooked fish.
We rounded off the day bottom fishing again for a while a hooked some Amber Jacks that we released due to being out of season and anther bunch of Snapper.
As always a fun day out with Captain Price on the Daymaker.
